Several conditions are observed in patients, after which doctors recommend the polysomnography test, such as unexplained chronic insomnia, unusual behaviors during sleep, REM sleep behavior disorder, narcolepsy, periodic limb movement disorder, sleep apnea, or any other sleep-related breathing disorder.
