Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOC) Treatment Market - Global Industry Analysis, Size, Share, Growth, Trends, and Forecast, 2017-2031

Global Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOC) Treatment Market: Introduction

Thoracic outlet syndrome (TOC) is a group of disorders that cause pain in the neck, shoulder, and arms, and numbness and tingling of the fingers. The thoracic outlet syndrome is caused by the compression of blood vessels and nerves in the space between the collarbone and the first rib known as thoracic outlet. The common causes of thoracic outlet syndrome include damage to the shoulder or neck, injuries caused because of sports-related activities, anatomical defects, tumors in chest, and obesity. The three types of thoracic outlet syndromes are neurogenic, vascular, and non-specific. Treatment of thoracic outlet syndrome includes therapeutic drugs such as anti-inflammatory drugs, anti-coagulation drugs, and muscle relaxants. When medicinal therapy does not improve the symptoms of thoracic outlet syndrome, surgical treatments are performed to relive them.

Key Drivers of Global Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOC) Treatment Market

Rise in prevalence of Lung Injuries, Lung Tumors, Congestive Heart Failure, and Lymph or Blood Vessels Blockages

According to the Journal of Aerosol Medicine and Pulmonary Drug Delivery, incidence of acute lung injuries is considerably high (200,000 per year in the U.S.), and overall mortality is also high. Lung cancer is the most common lethal neoplasm in the world, which accounts for 1.6 million deaths each year, and the number is increasing. According to the World Heart Federation, the prevalence of heart failure is rising globally to an estimated number of 26 million, with additional millions of undiagnosed cases.
