India and Iran Metal Cans Glass Jars Market: The Two Nations Present Diametrically Opposite Competitive Landscape, finds TMR

In the highly fragmented glass jars market, small- and medium-sized companies accounted for around 90% share.

As per the report, TMR’s findings suggest that the market for metal cans in India and Iran will expand at a moderate 2.2% CAGR over the period between 2016 and 2024, rising from a valuation of US$31.6 mn in 2015 to US$38.2 mn by 2024. Over this period, the glass jars market in India and Iran will expand at a 3.6% CAGR and rise to US$184.9 mn by 2024. 

Canned Foods and Beverages lead to Upswing in Demand for Metal Cans in India

Among different food applications, preserved food leads the market in terms of volume. The demand for metal cans for preserved foods is predicted to outpace all other segments by rising at a CAGR of 3.6% during the forecast period. Demand for metal cans too is increasing at a rapid pace in Asia Pacific, especially in India, due to the increasing usage of canned food and beverages. Demand for metal cans in industries such as food and beverages and chemicals is increasing rapidly.

In Iran too, the preserved food segment accounts for maximum share in the market and going forward, is predicted to rise at a CAGR of 3.2%. Decline in inflation rate and improvement in purchasing power in Iran have positively impacted the demand for packaged food.

Recycling and reusing metal and glass packaging materials and products is cost-effective for manufacturers and also environmentally friendly. “Vast energy savings are easily achieved through recycling and reusing glass and metal packaging products. For achieving sustainable growth, raising awareness among consumers about these long term benefits of these products will have to be the major focus of companies in the metal cans and glass jars market in India and Iran in the coming years,” adds the analyst.
