Heart Failure Detection Devices Market

Heart Failure Detection Devices Market - Global Industry Analysis, Size, Share, Growth, Trends, and Forecast, 2022-2031

Heart Failure Detection Devices Market: Introduction

There are several types of heart diseases such as coronary artery disease and heart attack. High blood pressure, high blood cholesterol, and smoking cause heart diseases. Other reasons for heart disease could be diabetes, overweight i.e., obesity, unhealthy diet, physical inactivity, and excessive consumption of alcohol.

Heart failure detectors are used to maintain the rhythm of heart beating to normal. Implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), cardiac pacemakers, cardiac loop recorders, and biventricular pacemakers have been developed to control or monitor arrhythmias in people with specific cardiac arrhythmias or heart failure.

Traditional model and leadless pacemaker are commonly available. The traditional model is placed under the skin and connected to the heart via electronic wires. A small leadless pacemaker is placed in the heart and does not require intravenous leads.

Pacemakers are used to treat bradycardia when heart beats are slow (less than 60 beats per minute). Pacemakers generate electrical impulses that allow the heart to beat normally.

The left ventricle is the large muscle chamber of the heart that pumps blood around the body. The left ventricular assist device (LVAD) is a surgically implanted battery-powered mechanical pump-like device. It helps maintain the pumping capacity of the heart, which by itself cannot function effectively. These devices are available in most heart transplant centers.

A biventricular pacemaker operates similar to a traditional pacemaker, but makes use of a third cord to transport electric impulses to the coronary heart to resynchronize the contractions of the coronary heart`s left chamber or ventricle.

Global Heart Failure Detection Device Market: Key Trends

  • The number of hypertension patients has increased due to sedentary lifestyle, which will drive the demand for heart failure detectors
  • On August 16, 2019, the FDA approved a new device to improve symptoms in patients with advanced heart failure
  • In January 2020, FDA cleared a new alternative surgical technique for Abbott’s Heart Mate 3 heart to normal function patients
  • High cost of the devices, low diagnostic yield, and clinicians with limited experience in the developing nations could restrain the market

North America to Dominate Global Heart Failure Detection Devices Market

  • In North America, the number of cardiovascular patients is high. According to the CDC, 659,000 people in the U.S. succumb to cardiovascular diseases every year, around 1 in every four months.
  • According to the European Society of Cardiology, currently, women are smoking as much as men in several European and Northern countries. Smoking and alcohol consumption have resulted in increased prevalence of overweight/obesity and diabetes in the last few decades. Usually, the death rate is high in the Northern region of Europe due to cardiovascular diseases.
  • According to a report published by JACC journals in June 2021, cardiovascular diseases have increased the death rate in Asia. The cardiovascular disease mortality rate has been varied among different countries within the same region. In Western Asia, the rate was higher than South and Southwest Asia. The percentage of CVD deaths among the total deaths was significantly low in the high income countries in Asia, especially in Japan and Israel, but significantly high in low and middle income countries in the region.
