Endobronchial Tubes Market

Endobronchial Tubes Market - Global Industry Analysis, Size, Share, Growth, Trends, and Forecast, 2019 - 2027

Endobronchial Tubes Market Introduction

An endobronchial tube is a medical device that is used for intubation during a thoracic surgery and other medical conditions to ventilate either side of the lung. Endobronchial tubes comprise two small lumen endotracheal tubes of different lengths that are attached together. The small tube is placed at trachea and longer one is placed at either side of the lung. There are several medical indications that require only either side of the lung to be ventilated. Endobronchial tubes are primarily indicated for separation of right side of the lung from left side in order to prevent the bleeding, pus, and other spillage from affected one to non-affected one. The other conditions where endobronchial tubes are most commonly used are aortic aneurysm surgery, pneumonectomy, or loboctomy, and anesthesia procedures. The Carlens and the Robertshaw tubes are most commonly used endobronchial tubes in health care facilities.

Global Endobronchial Tubes Market: Dynamics

High Prevalence and Incidence Rates of Chronic Pulmonary Disorders to Drive Market

The global endobronchial tubes market is primarily driven by high prevalence of chronic pulmonary disorders such as lung cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disorders, and lung infection. According to the World Cancer Research Fund, around 2 million cases of lung cancer were reported across the globe in 2018. According to the American Cancer Society, of the total number of cancer patients diagnosed every year in the U.S., around 13% had lung cancer.  According to the World Health Organization (WHO), in 2016, more than 251 million people across the globe were affected by chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD). Moreover, rise in demand for minimally invasive cardiac surgeries and rapidly growing thoracic hemorrhage cases across the globe are estimated to contribute to the growth of global endobronchial tubes market during the forecast period. Hence, high prevalence of lung cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disorders is likely to boost the global endobronchial tubes market during the forecast period.

On the other side, the availability and growing adoption of alternative single lung ventilation techniques and products such as single lumen tracheal tubes and endobronchial blockers are likely to restrain the endobronchial tubes market during the forecast period.
