Uterine fibroid is a type of tumor that arises from the smooth muscle tissues of uterus. Common non-cancerous growths that develop in the muscular wall of the uterus, they are also known as leiomyoma (benign tumor), fibroleiomyoma, fibromyoma and myoma.
