Dermatomycoses is a fungal infection of the skin commonly caused by yeast, dermatophytes or other groups of fungi (e.g. epidermophyton, microsporum and genera trichophyton). These organisms break down the keratin tissues of hair, epidermis, nails and are mainly characterized by colonization of the keratinized layers on the surface of skin.
